Spring Cleaning Checklist

  1. Garage - get rid of tool you don't use or that are rusted / beyond repair
  2. Roof - inspect your roof and clean out your gutters
  3. Exterior - pressure wash, touch up paint and caulking where needed
  4. HVAC - don't forget your spring service for your air conditioning
  5. Hot Water Heater - drain all sediment from your water heater
  6. Closets - donate clothing that you don't wear anymore
  7. Vacuum - sweep away all cobwebs and dust near the ceilings
  8. Walls - wash the walls throughout the house using a mixture of 1/2 cup ammonia, 1/4 cup white vinegar, and 1/4 cup baking soda 1 gallon of warm water
  9. Windows - wash inside and out, vacuum out the tracks
  10. Light Fixtures - dusk and wash
  11. Window Coverings - wet wipe blinds, dry clean curtains
  12. Shelves - remove all knickknacks, dust, and return
  13. Lights - vacuum lampshades and replace any burnt out lightbulbs
  14. Linen Closet - clean out and re-organize
  15. Bathrooms - deep clean your showers, toilets, and sinks
  16. Medicine Cabinets - take inventory and toss expired medicines
  17. Fridge - wash interior, consider defrosting freezer to clean, and toss any expired foods
  18. Stove - clean oven and soak stove rings / drip pans
  19. Kitchen - donate small appliances that you no longer use
  20. Linens - dry clean all bed sets, quilts, blankets, etc
  21. Furniture - vacuum all furniture including underneath
  22. Carpets - rent a steam cleaner or hire a professional company

Consider having a garage sale or donating items that you no longer need!

Put the proceeds of the sale toward a family vacation, or visit a local amusement park, water park or favorite restaurant to celebrate the beginning of summer.
